MG Car Repair: Mg Midget starter, starter solenoid, tracer wire

ok i recently bought a 1972 mg midget, and it started and ran ok, but once i got it hone it will not start, the starter will not turn, but the battery has power, also i can not jump start it. any help would be great

Hi Will,
Have someone hold the key to the "Start" position and test the white w/red tracer wire on the starter solenoid. If there is no power then you need to test the ignition/start switch (white w/red tracer wire).Also note if the solenoid "Clicks" when operated.
If you did have power at the solenoid then you need to test the large battery wire on the solenoid for power. And check the grounds from engine to frame and frame to battery.
