MG Car Repair: carburretor, nuts, clock

Question
Only 1 nut is visible holding the carburretor to the manifold.  Are there any more that aren't visible?  I can't get a wrench in there so any advice on what tool to use.

Answer
Hi Justin.  You have not given me the make, model and year of your car.  If it is an MG, then it will have two or possibly just one carburetter.

Each carb is held to the manifold by two nuts.  You must use a small 1/2 inch AF wrench, not 13mm.  On early MGBs the nuts are one above the other (at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock).  On later MGBs they are diagonal (at 2 o'clock and 8 o'clock).  If you study the wrench you will see that the head is at an angle to the handle.  By turning it over, you should find that it will fit one way or the other, allowing you to tighten the nut half-a-flat at a time.  It is slow and tedious, but it works.
