MG Car Repair: 77 mgb electrical, electrical relays, power fuse

Question
Greetings from Maine, Barry. Hope you can help. My '77 B will start fine, but as soo as the key is released from the "start" position to the "run" position, it stalls. It is an intermittent problem. I initially tested (and eliminated) the switch as being the problem, and have tested all fuses and fuseable links--all ok. This car has what appears to be a "lumitron" ignition with a LOT of wires. Also, I am able to keep the car running if I energize the second from the bottom of the 4 fuses on the R/H inner wheel well (once I energize this fuse with 12 volts, it seems to stay energized without help until I turn the key off).
Any ideas and/or help is very much appreciated!

Answer
Hi Terry.  I think your problem is a faulty ignition relay.

Near the fuse box you will see some electrical relays hanging down.  Look for the one that has 4 wires (Brown, Black, White, and White with a brown stripe).  When you power fuse #3 you bypass this relay.
