MG Car Repair: transmission 76 midget, oil leaks, gear oil

i recently got a 76 midget i can not find the fill for the transmission. were is it located? what is the best fluid to use

Hi Rob,
The gearbox filler/level plug is on the side of the gearbox and the factory states to use from 75w to 90w depending on the local temperature. 80w is a usual all around gear oil. If the syncros don't work well until the car is driven for a while many switch to engine oil providing you don't have too many gearbox oil leaks.
