MG Car Repair: no spark, coul, mallory

QUESTION: I have no spark comming out of my mallory coil I have 12 volts in and out of the coil but no spark I have tried changing the coul but still no spark all of the wires are properly connected and everything is working properly but I have no spark

Hi James,
Next question, what kind of ignition system do you have in the distributor? Since you already said you have a Mallory coil I doubt you have the original Lucas/Opus ignition system. (very few made it past 1981)
Is it a set points? or electronic? If electronic how many wires to the pick-up and where do they go?
