MG Car Repair: 1965 Sprite door ploblems, weather strip, wiper seal

Hi Howard, I have three questions. How can the door lock be removed from the door? I can see the retaining lock clip but can not see how it can be removed. How do you install the clips on the outer door dust weather strip with the window installed? I removed the old strip but installing the new one is a problem. What can be done to get the window to go up and down easily?  It binders about 1/3 of the way down and goes up even harder. It does go full travel in both direction but feel like the force required could cause some damage.   I tried lube with a small improvement.

Hi Albert,
As I remember there is a stop for the window at the bottom with a pad on it and you may just remove that stop to get the window to go down enough to work with the outer wiper seal and it's clips.

As for the window getting hard to role up and down you need to closely examine the tracks as they do ware out and need replacing. that material is available from most of the British car parts houses on line.

Check to see that the winder mechanism is lubed too.
