MG Car Repair: 1980 MG Midget twin carbs, twin carbs, car fires

Question
I am trying to start my MG after the winter. I usually prime the carbs a few time to get gas flow and away I go.
This time The car fires up for as long as the manual gas is available then dies. I've checked the fuel at the filter and when I turn the engine over gas pumps through. It just won't stay running/ IDEAS??

Answer
I am not really familiar with the last Midget with the Triumph engine, especially the export versions.  It sounds to me that you have a blocked jet in one of the carburetters.  When you pull the choke open it supplies gas via a different pathway, but when you push it in, the engine dies.

Do you have twin SU carbs or are they a different make?
