MG Car Repair: 74 midget rear brakes, rear brakes, foot brake

Question
I rebuilt the rear brakes on my car but the right rear locks up violently when the hand brake is engaged even slightly- not so apparent when the foot brake is used -but it grabs then if you try it on dirt. I backed off the hand brake adjuster on that side but to no avail. Could I have put the shoes on backwards or something to get this symptom?? thanks Ken

Answer
Hi Ken,
You must have done something different on that side so to see just take the drums off both sides and compare the shoes and the hand brake link between the two shoes to see if the right one is different. Double check the adjustment on the left side as it affects the hand brake too.
