MG Car Repair: Ignition, cei system, speedy reply

Question
QUESTION: Mr.Fitzcharles, I am in the process of replacing ignition wires on a 77 Midget. I am replacing an opus with a CEI unit from a donor car. Both cars had been cut, spliced and melted by earlier owners. I have wiring diagrams, but they are pretty vague. The opus was pretty well burnt up but I would like use the CEI, so am in need of proper color codes and locations. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks...Tom

ANSWER: Hi Tom,
I can give you the Opus/Lucas wiring but I have never seen a CEI wiring diagram.Your best bet would be to search the net for CEI or try to find a company that sells CEI for the diagram.
If anyone reading this knows the CEI system let us know.

QUESTION: Howard, Thanks for the speedy reply. I have been fighting this mess for days now. I can't believe there is nothing on a factory CEI anywhere. Moss has replacement parts but no diagram.I just don't want to take a chance on burning it up. If you come up with anything please let me know. Thanks again..Tom

Answer
Tom, I told you to look on the net for this aftermarket system. I looked and the first one that popped up was this page. Contact them (bottom of their page) with any numbers or a discretion of the system that has been put on your car.
