MG Car Repair: 1977 midget 1500 oil Filter, line thanks, bypass valve

Hi Howard,
       Getting ready to do my first oil change on my 1500 1977 Midget ..quick question the oil filter by that year just the spin on filter ? Any particular type? I know I just want it to be as short as not to rub to much on air pump line . thanks for setting me straight Howard.

Hi Bill,
The filter is a spin on filter and use the recommended filter in the store's application data. But be sure it has a anti drain-back valve and a bypass valve and change it every 3000 miles or less. If you change it yourself be careful if the screw in adapter comes off with the old filter not to loose it as it will come off with the filter if not tight enough in the block.
I have no clue what air pump line your are talking about.
