MG Car Repair: 78 Midget-Both Front Wheel Brakes Frozen, clutch master cylinder, dot 4 brake fluid

Question
Just completed replacing the Clutch Master and Slave cylinders took the car for a ride (5 miles) and smelled something burning. It was the front brakes.  Cracked the line to the front brake from the Master Brake Cylinder and I was able to get closer to home before it froze again.  Process was repeated again until I got it home.  Thought I had air in the system because I had the Master Brake Cylinder off the car while I replaced the new Clutch Master Cylinder.  So, decided to bleed the brake system-while bleeding it noticed bralke fluid running down the brake pedal-now the Master Brake Cylinder is leaking so I will replace.  I removed the Master Brake Cylinder but the 2 front road wheels are still frozen-How can I free them up?

Answer
Hi Mary,
If you have the master cylinder off of the car and the two front wheels are still locked up you need to first open a bleeder on the caliper to see if it is hydraulic pressure. If it is then the brake hoses are bad. If that don't free it up then you need to check to see if the brake pads are stuck and if they are not you need to rebuild the calipers as the pistons are stuck. Be sure to use DOT 4 brake fluid.
