MG Car Repair: Wipers, test light, wiper switch

Question
QUESTION: Greetings,
I recently and bought a 78 MGB in very good shape. Having not worked on cars in...years I am stuck. Recently my wipers just stopped in "mid-wipe" and now I can't see to get them started again. I don't have a wiring diagram so I am not sure where to even look for a fuse which is my first conjecture as to the cause.
Do you any recommendations?  (this is the 3 wiper version)
Mike

ANSWER: Hi Mike,
Yes, the first thing you need it a wiring diagram and a 12v test light to test circuits to the wiper switch and wiper motor. Go to my web site and down load it and it's index and if you have trouble tracing a circuit let me know and I will try to help.

QUESTION: Greetings,
I can only download the schematic and not the index. I don't know where the wiper is on the drawing and not sure what fuse works with what. I do have a 12v tester.

ANSWER: Sorry about that, it was my fault, I typed in a (,) instead of a (.) in front of the (jpg)

QUESTION: Thank you Howard,
I actually ran a test light on to the wires that lead to the wiper and they had current. The motor was hot when I had the switch on which leads me to believe that it is not good.
I am removing it but I am stuck on how to disconnect it from the "cable" that connects the motor to the wipers themselves. I disconnected the large nut that is on the piping that contains some kind of cable. Do I take off the plate on the motor that contains this "cabling". Do you have recommendations and even pixs?
Thanks very much for your patience,
Mike

Answer
Mike, just remove the cover and inside you will see a link (connecting rod) the connects the end of the cable to the large gear. The link is attached to the gear by a "E" clip. Remove the "E" clip and the thin washers. (don't loose the washers as they are shims) Then you can remove the link and the cable. Be sure to lube everything when you reassemble.
