MG Car Repair: 75 mgb misfiring, compression test, mgb

hi howard,
i've looked through all your answers, but haven't seen this, hope i didn't miss
it. anyway, i've got a 75mgb, which when i accelerate quickly/ heavy the
engine starts to kinda 'misfire', sounds like the engine is flooding. i've
checked the dashpots, they seem ok. changed plugs and leads. any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dermot,
On any misfire you need to confirm that the engine is good first with a compression test. be sure the throttle is wide open an at least 4 or 5 revolutions on each cylinder. Let me know the results. Then we will precede to the next test.
