MG Car Repair: MGB Engine Eatrh Strap, rubber motor, transmission assembly

Question
Hello Howard,
I asked the following question of another allexperts expert and got an answer, but I thought maybe you would be able to add more on the subject based on your experience.

My original question:
I am in the process of reinstalling a rebuilt engine and transmission in my 1980 MGB LE.  When I removed the transmission I remember undoing this strap (it is braided, about 6 inches long, with connectors to go over/on a
bolt)from around where the transmission mountings are near the transmission cross member, but do not remember exactly where it was attached (either end)?  Research in my manuals and on the Internet has not provided me any
answers.  A picture or drawing would be great, but I can't find anything, other than this is very critical to have connected properly.  Thanks for any help.

The answer I received:
Unless you are doing this car as a 100 point, the experts will be crawling all over the car deducting points for the wrong lock washer, restoration there is only one thing that matters. Providing a path for electricity to get from the frame of the car to the rubber insulated engine/transmission assembly. I am not sure but I seam to remember that the strap that you are talking about bolted to the transmission extension housing motor mount bolt and the other end to the motor mount bolt that attached to the cars frame. Without that grounding strap current (electrical power) will try to travel through the throttle cable/linkage, or any other path that it can find, and without much success. The main thing is to get a path for the electricity to flow around the rubber motor mounts. Make sure that where the strap is connected that you have cleaned off the paint to get a bright shiny surface so that a good contact is made.

Thanks, Howard, for any additional help you might be able to offer.

Answer
The guy is correct, it don't matter where the ground strap is placed as long as it connects the engine or trans. to the frame of the car. All the ones I remember were on the front motor mount from the frame around the motor mount to the engine side of the motor mount.
