Military Vehicle Repair: cocv stalling, diesel van, cucv

Hi guy's, I have a 86 cucv that that has no power and stalls alot. Changed fuel filter on fire wall and also bypassed the filer assembly to see if it was sucking air somewhere. Same problem. Checked the return side (top of ip) with clear hose to see if it had bubbles and none where there when running. stalls every time when you let off it and takes forever to rev up.No feul leaks that I can see..... HELP!!!!

That little fitting where the return hose connects....remove it, and make sure you can blow thru it. May need to stick a little rod inside it to push a little check ball open.
Try running it with that fitting removed. I have seen them get plugged.
Is the mechanical fuel pump supplying fuel ok?
I have needed to have several of those military injector pumps rebuilt due to them running jet fuel in them...just doesn't lubricate as well as diesel.
