Mitsubishi Repair: Floor Board, passanger side, c drain

Question
Good Evening, I have a 2000 Eclipse with a 4cyl and manual tranny. The drivers floor board has water collecting in it occasionally and my first thought is the heater core. I know they are normally on the right side but thought that maybe just for American made vehicles. So, any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris

Answer
Chris,
All Eclipses were actually made in Illinois, and they too have the heater core on the passanger side.  But if the condensed water from your A/C is not draining properly, water could get up into the ducts and drips through to the drivers side.  You may also have a tear in your weather stripping causing water to seep in from the outside.  So have your A/C drain tube checked for clogs and your weatherstripping.
Good luck!
