Mitsubishi Repair: ticking sound, valve lifters, fuel injector cleaner

Question
Is it the ticking sound in a Mitsubishi 1997 GSR bad? it goes away when hot but is this going to be expensive it fix

Answer
Chris,
A ticking sound can be caused by a number of things, and not necessarily a bad thing. Your fuel injectors will normally make a clicking noise.  This may just mean they are a little clogged. A good fuel injector cleaner used on regular basis can help this. Your valve lifters can also exhibit a ticking noise. This can be caused by lack of engine oil or even excessively dirty oil. If those do get too clogged then you may need them professionally cleaned. But if the car if running fine then I would not worry too much about it for now but it an eye on it.
Good luck!
