Mitsubishi Repair: Key wont stay put!, cylinder lock, lock cylinder

Question
Hi Anthony,  I have a 95 Galant S series (Automatic) that a while ago that my original key(worn) would no longer turn in lock cylinder. I found my spare and now the key will not stay put in the start position when starting the car.  Admittedly, I did take a couple things apart (electrical ignition switch) and the pieces below the steering column- 1 piece looks to interact within the ignition assembly, but swear that I put all pieces back in correctly.  So could the problem be the electrical ignition switch or the whole assembly(lock cylinder)?  Any direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
PHIL

Answer
Phil,
If the key got worn down enough that it would no longer turn, then there is a good chance cylinder lock for the key is also worn; causing the spare key to also have problems.  I would suggest replacing the cylinder lock altogether.
Good luck!
