Mitsubishi Repair: 2000 eclipse gt air dampner, eclipse gt, heater core

Question
having trouble with my heat in my eclipse air is hot but not real hot, gets warmer when i put on recirculate i think a air dampner is stuck open where are these located at ?

Answer
Sam,
I do not know of the exact damper location, but the air flows in from the vent just below the outside of the windshield as funnels in through the ducting connected to the heater core.  If that is stuck open, your air temp will be lower.  You may also want to check to be sure the heater core itself is not clogged.  If the coolant is not flowing through the core and the if the core has any blockage around it, the hot air will not be efficiently passed into the car's cabin.  You may want to have a mechanic check the coolant flow through the core and inspect the core itself for any damage.
Good luck!
