Mitsubishi Repair: 1999 diamante, mechanic check, fuse box

Question
I have a 99 diamante which began stalling out when at idle or slow speeds.  I replaced the battery because it had drain.  I ran volt meter tests and something is still draining the battery.  I have checked plugs and relays.  which has brought me to the ecu assist, the instrument ecu and fuse box.  I have disconnected the plugs and something is still draining the battery.  How can i check to see if the problem is the wiring or the ecu's?

Answer
Mike,
Make sure the battery is charging appropriately while the car is running.  Check the voltage across the battery terminals when the car is running and has reached normal operating temperature.  If it's below 13 volts (normal is around 14.4 volts), the drain may be coming from your alternator.  Else, the drain may be coming from a poor ground connection or a short circuit somewhere.  Those are tougher to track down, and you may want to have a mechanic check that for you.
Good luck!
