Mitsubishi Repair: Oil under the motor, older cars, oil seal

Question
I have just bought a 95 eclipse rs 2.0 automatic non turbo. I noticed that it was leaking oil from under the motor. The driver side underneath is covered oil. It don't leave a large puddle of oil but it's leaking from somewhere and I have no idea where. I do know that it needs a front driver side axle bc the boot it torn. I need help. Thanks

Answer
Arial,
From what you've described, it sounds like your front oil seal may be worn and is leaking oil.  This is not uncommon on older cars.  The best would be to have your mechanic inspect this.  Since replacing the seal involves removing the timing belt, your mechanic may recommend getting that replaced as well if your timing belt has more than 60,000 miles on it.
Good luck!
