I was reading a simaler problem you answered but my problem is a little more involved hopr you can help

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage with gremlins! Engine dies wile driving, just shuts off, not all the time but sometimes. When trying to start the car some times it will just turn over and not start the engine light will flicker make a clicking noise then go solid after a minute or two and go out, then the car will start. I replace one of the ignition coils after it melted one day, yesterday  after not starting going through the same process with the engine light it started ran very badly and the new ignition coil started to smoke. I shut the car off the waited a few minutes it started fine and had no problems? I have taken the car to the dealership twice and they can’t find any problems with the car, very frustrating!

If the dealership told you what they inspected, that may be helpful.  The problem could be the car's computer itself.  If the computer or the connection to the computer is faulty, then you'll have all sorts of erratic behavior.  And due the randomness of the problems you're experiencing, that usually indicated an electrical problem rather than a mechanical one.
