Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi Outlander 2006 AC/Heater Not working, mitsubishi outlander, seat heaters

Question
My husband cleaned the engine on our 2006 Mit. Outlander SE, while driving later that day the auto "lost power". COuld still drive it, but only to about 65 mph. Took it to the mechanic and had the ACC pedal Position sensor replaced. The acceleration is better. But also during this time, the AC, heater and  seat heaters have quit working. The fuses have been checked and they look fine and seem to be working correctly.  Has this type of thing been reported before and how can it be fixed?  Thanks

Answer
Kim,
If there definitely is not a fuse problem, you may want to have your alternator checked.  Sometimes electrical-intensive and engine-intensive devices like heaters and A/C are prevented from activating to allow the alternator to provide the more critical task of keeping the battery charges and spark plugs firing.  Ask your mechanic if they checked your alternator already and bring it back if they haven't.
Good luck!
