Mitsubishi Repair: 1995 Eclipse stalling while running, eclipse gs, highway speeds

I have a 1995 Eclipse GS 2.0 manual that stalls out for only a split second while traveling at highway speeds.  It also shuts off while idling and is sometimes difficult to restart-it acts like it is flooded.  Both problems started around the same time and are intermittent.  What should I check?

This may be something a basic tune-up would take care of.  There isn't much you can visually to determine if they are bad, but things like the air filter, fuel filter, and spark plugs all need to be replaced over time.  If it has been more than a year since you last replaced your air filter and fuel filter, that should be your first start.  If it has been 30,0000 miles since last you changed your spark plugs, those are next.  If it has been more than 60,000 since you've had your timing belt changed, I'd recommend that along with all the other regular scheduled maintenance items.
