Mitsubishi Repair: Changed battery no start 2002 galant, acid leak, battery cables

Question
The car started and drove fine, but the battery had an acid leak with extream corosion. We today took the battery and exchanged it for a new one installing the new one the car wont start the dash lights, the back round to the spedo and the shift lights (P, N, D, etc) all flash so do the blinkers and the tail lights but the car wont start, no noise at all.

Answer
Matt,
Make sure the battery cables are secure and clean, and double check they are on the proper terminals.  Excessively corroded cables will prevent sufficient power to the starter and the other electrical systems of the car.  Putting the cables on backwards may cause severe damage to electrical components of the car.  Check the fuses/fusible links and relays located near the battery.  If everything looks fine to your eye, you should have a mechanic test the charging system in more depth.
Good luck!
