Mitsubishi Repair: 1992 LeBaron, foot on the gas, lebaron

Question
Hi there,
I have a 1992 LeBaron, it has only 61,167 KM on it.  It runs great EXCEPT -- when i go to a car wash, or drive thru a puddle, it is guaranteed to completely stall out, with no warning or indication.  It will re-start again easily but WILL NOT CONTINUE TO RUN, unless my foot is on the gas, the minute i remove my foot from the gas peddle, it stalls again.  I have to put car in drive, and leave my foot on the gas, until whatever it is "dries out" and then it will again run fine.  I have had it to 4 mechanics and no one can figure it out.  I really want to sell the car, but dont feel right selling it to someone, as this problem is dangerous.  Please help me.
thanks

Answer
Under the hood on the right and left side there are relays.  If any are broken loose from their mounts and are hanging upside down they can collect water possibly causing this problem.  Have a technician spray a light amount of water to small area's under the hood  while the car is in an idle and see if it causes the engine to stall or a rough idle will help isolate the general area you should be checking.  Let me know if this helps.  Bruce
