Mitsubishi Repair: A/C condensation on Drivers side floor, mitsubishi eclipse gs, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS standard.  The drivers carpet is continually getting wet, appears to occur when A/C is running, not from rain or car wash with windows down or poor door seal.  Where should I look first for condensation leaking onto the drivers side floor?

Answer
John,
There is a small drain hose underneath the car on the passenger side where the water from the A/C is supposed to drip out when the A/C running.  Sometimes that drain hose can get clogged.  When that happens, the water is unable to drain out of the car and instead, builds up in the heater box and eventually starts draining out the air ducts on the floor of the car.  You can have your mechanic try unclogging that hose from outside the car.  It may just be some debris got stuck in there as you were driving.  Though if your mechanic is unable to remove the clog from the outside, they would most likely need to get into the heater core box and unclog it from the inside.
Good luck!
