Mitsubishi Repair: 1998 mitsubishi eclipse, fuel pressure regulator, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
The car started dying at a stop sign after a 40 mile trip. It started back up, but wouldnt continue to run, would start briefly then die, there is a loud ticking noise that starts when the car dies, it is comming from what sounds like its in the back of the glove box.  I babbied it home but once home will turn over and fire but imedeatley dies, no matter how much gas. Ther is an additionall ticking noise we have identified to a small vaccum type thing that sets on the fire wall (we have no Idea what this is could you please tell me) that has 2 vaccum lines comming out of it and one small electrical plug that goes in the side it is heavily coroded.

Answer
Brian,
I'm not sure what which exact those vacuum lines you're seeing, but it's possible you traced them back to the fuel pressure regulator.  You may need to have your car brought to a mechanic to inspect the fuel system to see if the proper pressure is maintained throughout the system.
Good luck!
