Mitsubishi Repair: A/C Belt, montero sport, compressor motor

Question
2003, Montero Sport, 3.0, Automatic.
When I accelrate the A/C belt squeals. I had the AC serviced in May, new belts. The AC runs fine except when the RPM's go up. Any advice? Belt not tight enough?

Answer
Ryan,
If the belt was not tight enough, you would hear squealing.  If the cold air decreases when your engine speeds up, this could indicate a problem with the A/C compressor motor or with the refrigerant level in the system.  You should have your refrigerant level checked by a mechanic to be sure it's sufficient.  And also to be sure to have the compressor  inspected to be sure it performing nominally.
Good luck!
