Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi RVR, mitsubishi rvr, foot on the gas

Question
Hie, I own a 1992 petrol Mitsubishi Rvr; and it is giving me problems, and I love the car dearly. Let me start right from the start (cold start). When I try to start the car usually after the engine has gone cold it wont start for the first time, and after a couple of tries, usually 4 to 6 it then starts up. As soon as it running, I try to just press on the gas just a little bit. This sends the car to stall and cut of. I even step on the gas paddle all the way down, and the only response I get from it is it looses its idling and cuts off. So I later discovered after I have cranked it up from a cold start, i have to leave it and let the engine warm up (only then that's when if i step on the gas paddle it responds as it must.) But still even if i try to rev up the engine (I know its not good for the engine if its stationary) it barely goes up to 7 (where the redline starts). Also sometimes when i start it up it produces these loud popping sounds from the engine, though it sounds as if its coming from the air filter.

The other problem I have is I can not drive the car with less than 3/4 of fuel, so i have to keep the fuel on full, and my new empty is when the gauge hits 3/4. Why? the car strangely starts to not respond, or starts jacking, or eventually shuts down. But as soon as i put fuel in it, the car starts working in a drivable manner. though if i try to take off hard, it will respond slow, and i can feel its lacking power. Most of the time whilst driving i can feel it slowing down, as if i have lifted my foot on the gas paddle.

Would sure need your help.

Answer
Mesta: Get the fuel pump checked I would say it is getting bad and will have to be replaced. There is an easy test to make sure the fuel is putting out enough pressure for your car's engine to run. But I bet the fuel pump will have to be replaced. Also have the computer coded it controls everything in that car and it might explain what is going on. But I still think it is the pump.
