Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi Lancer 1989, mitsubishi lancer, fuel pump

Question
My 1989 Lnacer has started to stall due to fuel starvation and won't restart normally.  I could get it to start by pouring gas into the carb.  Once it had started it would run OK for a few days and then suddenly stop again, usually after first starting and travelling uphill slowly.  It has now stopped and won't start, even with gas poured in the carb.

Answer
George: You need to get the computer coded to see what it might tell you is going on, or you could have one of the bad computers so the computer its self is bad. The computer controls everything in that car even one as old as your's. It runs how rich or lean the car runs. You know to get the mix just right so the car runs as it should. Give me a car built in the 60's please. So you need to get the computer coded to see if it might kick out the problem. Try taking the neg cable off the battery and putting it back on, well after 5 minutes. Sometimes that will reset the computer. Also how old is the fuel pump in your car? It could be bad too, have you ever replaced it? God bless: Lin
