Mitsubishi Repair: 1995 mits. galant, throttle position sensor, idle control valve

Question
I have a 95 galant and every time I turn on the car the cars rpms go up and down. I took it to a mechanic and he said it was the idle conrol valve. After looking a little closer i found out that adjusting the throttle position sensor the jerking stops but it idles at a high rpm. So now im confused on what it might be. Do you have any suggestions?

Answer
Rainer: Got an AutoZone close by? They will code your car for free, that way the computer should kick out what the problem is. I would say it sounds more like a sensor to me then the idle control valve. But still with the coding of the computer you should know. The computer in your car controls everything by the use of all the sensors through out the engine and transmission. I always get a second idea on things so the first guy said idle control valve try another shop and see what they tell you. But first get the computer coded to see what it might tell you.
