Answer
Kris: Sorry but I don't understand what you are talking about here. What the heck is a crankwalking? Oil oozing from out behind the engine could be coming from anythere. Yes it could be the mail seal but is the car using a lot of oil? Like you fill the oil and add a bit of fuel to keep it going down the road. Or it is a little bit of oil? As the valve covers could be leaking as they don't leak a lot. And that is just a gasket that needs to be replaced. Is the car blowing white smoke? That would be a sign the oil is mixing with the water and so a bad head gasket on the engine. Does the car heat and use a lot of water? You will need to get the car into a shop and get them to find out where the oil is coming from, get a cost as to what it would cost to fix it. But then take the car to a second shop and get a second idea unless you got a shop you can trust. With the main seal the car would use oil but not a lot of it. What color is the oil you are seeing? Is it dark like engine oil or it is pink like transmission fluid? These are all things you need to find out but you will have to take the car into a shop to be checked over. Unless you got a husband, friend or family member that works on cars then have them check it for you. God bless: Linda
