Mitsubishi Repair: 97 Mitsubishi Colt engine change, mitsubishi colt, 3cc

Question
The compression in cylinders 2 and 4 died in my Colt after 160,000 miles and I've got myself a new engine and the correct manual. So I'm not looking for info about actually installing the engine. I was just wondering if there were some things I should watch out for when changing the engine. I'm not going near the gaskets etc, just a straight swop. It's a European, not Jap import, manual, petrol 1.3cc. And it's in Ireland....

Any tips you could give would be brilliant. Cheers x

Answer
Davina,
Straight swaps typically go well, as long as the old engine was removed without causing any damage.  It may benefit to install new engine mounts prior to installation.  Also be cautious and cognizant of all electrical connections and sensors.  Follow your manually closely, double check all connections, and take your time.  This is something you only want to have to do once.
Good luck!
