Mitsubishi Repair: 1997 2.0 y code mitsubishi eclipse, mechanic check, mitsubishi eclipse

runs good ntil it gets to normal running temp. then check engine light comes on and it starts missing and dies. code reader said it skipped 1 or more notches on timing belt. when check timing its still right. can you help

The code may be a result of a faulty reading from the cam angle position sensor; which is what tells the computer to throw that code if it thinks the timing is off.  Have your mechanic check that sensor and replace it if necessary.
