Mitsubishi Repair: 2003 Galant, thermostat switch, heater core

Question
When I went to use my car earlier this week there was no heat coming out. The thermostat moves but the air is cold. Turning the knob doesn't do anything either. My mechanic has told me a modular is bad and it will cost me over 400 dollars. I find this hard to believe. Any advice? Thank you

You should get a second opinion.  Your problem could be anything from a bad thermostat switch to a stuck open thermostat.  A fix could be as expensive as replacing the entire module or heater core, so something cheap like replacing the thermostat.  Either way, get a couple opinions and hopefully you'll get your problem fixed and save some money.
