Mitsubishi Repair: 1992 Mitsubishi Lancer GTi, car repair manuals, radiator cap

When I start my car and idle after few minutes and when the temperature indicator rise near to middle. The car observed choking and sometimes it will stop if the engine can cope up. Can you help me what was the possible cause. Also, can you provide links or site that can provide free service manual. Thanks

Ed G Ison: That could be a lot of different things, I don't understand what you mean that the car choking or sometimes if will stop if the engine can be cope up? If the tempersture climbs after you start the car, I would be looking a water leak someplace, does the car use water? In that you have to add it often? Then I would look at the water pump, hoses, radiator, radiator cap and if you got white smoke coming out of the exhaust there would be bad head gasket. You could have the  car coded to see what the computer in the car might tell you as to the problem. It might be a weak sensor someplace or something on that order. As for a site with a free service manual or links no I have no idea on that one. I am sure a lot of people would love to know of something like that. I guess you will have to hunt something like that up yourself but not much is free on the net anymore. Listen the parts stores sell repair manual for your car, they cost around $20.00, well worth the money and I would get Haynes they are just better. Oh wait a minute, you could check your library, I believe some of them will carry car repair manuals, that you could read, if not check out, well then make copies of what you be needing.
