Mitsubishi Repair: 2002 montero limited making squealing noise, moving down the road, brake pads

Question
Yesterday my car made a squealing, whistling noise heard inside the car on the driver's side.  The noise happens when braking and turning simulataneously and sometimes just when braking. It sounds like air is released as well. Brake pads are fine, otherwise car is running fine.

Answer
Christine: Sounds like your drive belt is slipping and needs to either be tighten or replaced. Please don't put off getting the belt checked because if it breaks while you are moving down the road, it could leave you stuck along the side of the road. So get the car into a shop or dealership so they can take a look at your car. God bless: Linda
