Mitsubishi Repair: 93 3000gt starting problems, jumper wire, starter solenoid

Question
i have a 93 3000gt that has come to me for repairs ..it wouldnt start the battery was fully charged but when you turn the key to the start position nothing ..you can hear a click and thats it i have checked the battery connections and  starter connections all the fuses and relays all were working and then i check for power at the starter solenoid signal wire and no power it is getting power to the starter relay and so i ran a jumper wire from the starter signal wire to the battery bypassing the ignition switch and the motor cranked so the i moved up to the starter relay  i ran a jumper wire across the  terminals and the car would start with the key which was a temp fix and then the starter quit working . i tested it and it failed the test so i replaced it and now the car starts  but only with the jumper wire still in the starter relay spot i have tried a new relay and that did not fix it so i am still stuck with the jumper wire in the starter relay spot and now the alternator is not putting out a suffent charge but with the old starter it would overcharge around 15 volts with the new starter it will not charge over 11 volts even under heavy acceleration i have been racking my brain on this problem for about 15 hours ... also i had the car running outside for about 6 mins and the car shut off and the battery was dead which the battery was purchased on 11/12/08 is it possible that the bad starter burnt out the alternator? and why will the car start with the jumper wire in place of the starter relay? i have also checked the ecu capacitors because i have delt with leaking caps before.. im just trying to cover all the bases to give you as much information about  this problem to help me

Answer
Randy: The car is the right year for the bad computers, my guess is that it has one. The car company set up for another company to build their computers and that company did not build very good ones. A piece will start to die in the computer, it will do by leaking its self into the computer and when it does this it messes with a lot of things. I have seen this will cars not srarting right, not running good and well the list goes on. I would try to get a rebuilt one, have the computer the car has in it rebuilt or new computer to see if that might fix the problem. As I would says the computer in that car is a mess. When you remember the computer controls everything in that car, everything from even how it shifts the transmission. So if things are going on with the car but you can not find a good reason for them. It is the computer causing the problems. I have seen where people have coded the computer and everything came back fine. But the computer was bad. So I would try that. God bless: Linda
