Mitsubishi Repair: slipping/jerking into gears, unusual tools, autozone

Question
98tf magna slipping/jerking into gears after being lent & hooned round, fluid level ok
, recent filter is it the trans or the belts/bands (can i tighten or replace), any other tips suggestions or unusual tools recquired

Answer
Brody: Have the car coded, you would be surprised to know the computer controls how your car shifts. It could be you have a bad sensor or a week one someplace in the system. Got an AutoZone close by? They will code your car for free. No belts or bands that you can tighten or replace, you could change the filter and fluid again. Is the fluid a nice pink color? Or it is pink with a bit of brown in it? Does it smell burnt? If the color is off that pink color I would change the filter and the fluid again. But get the car coded as the computer should kick out a problem to all this. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
