Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsibishi wont start, sherry sherry, mitsubishi eclipse

Question
Hi,
We have an 01 Mitsubishi Eclipse, manual. We have recently had the alternator replaced as well as the starter. The starter that was put on had to be replaced again due to sometimes it wouldn't start. It worked okay for a couple of weeks. Now we can drive it a week and it starts every time. Then all of a sudden, it won't even turn over. We let it sit a few hours and then it cranks on the first try. It cranks every morning after sitting all night. Someone said the 3rd starter might be faulty and someone else said it could be the contacts.

Also, the driver side front and back floor boards have been wet several times. Could it be coming from the air conditioner? I am not sure what to check.

Thanks so much in advance for any suggestions.

Sherry

Answer
Sherry,
You might have gotten another bum starter.  Have your mechanic inspect the battery, cables, and contacts to be sure they are all secure.  Also have the starter relay inspected.  That may need to be replaced as well.

Wet floor boards can be caused by your A/C drain tube being clogged.  Your mechanic may have luck clearing the blockage with compressed air.  Else, they may have to inspect the evaporator.
Good luck!
