Mitsubishi Repair: Runs bad after battery replcement, battery cables, alternator

Question
I replaced the battery in my 2001 Eclipse now it will not idle or run very well. I have heard that there is a sequence that need to be completed to reload the computer for the running peramitters , what are they??

Answer
Tony,
It is true that your car's computer can loose "memory" of your driving style and run a little rough after installing a new one.  You should not have to do anything more than drive the car as you normally would so the computer can relearn your driving style.  So I'm not aware of any parameters to run.

I'd recommend checking your battery cables.  Make sure the terminal connectors are clean from corrosion and that they are firmly attached.  You may want to also have your alternator tested to see if it's working at full capacity.  If the reason you replaced your battery in the first place is because it died, it may have gone bad prematurely due to a bad alternator.  Have it checked and replaced if necessary.
Good luck!
