Mitsubishi Repair: 2000 Eclipse AC Compressor, ebay seller, ac compressor

I purchsed an AC Compressor on EBAY from a guy who said that it would fit 00 - 01 Eclipse.  My mechanic tried to install it but soon called and said that the plug did not match and he could not plug it in.  He put the old one back on and now I may be stuck with this.  I'm trying to get a hold of the EBAY seller now but do you know if 2000 and 2001 parts are interchangeable?  Thank you.

There was a certain cutoff point for compressors made for the 2.4L 2000 model.  If your car was made on or before 11/2/1999, it used a different type of compressor than in the '01 models.  For the 2000 model that was produced after 11/2/1999, those compressors are interchangeable with '01 models and even later.  So the seller on eBay was not completely wrong in claiming that his compressor will fit '00 and '01 models.

For the 3.0L engine, the 2000 Eclipse had a different compressor in the 2001 and later models.
