Mitsubishi Repair: radio code mitsubishi eclipse, mitsubishi eclipse, radio out

i just purchased a 1999 mitsubishi eclipse.  it says code on the radio, is there anywhere i can enter the vin number and get this?  Please help.  i can't get to the serial number for the radio.

If the previous owner did not give you the code for the radio, you will have to take the car to the dealership in order to get radio activated.  Else, if you pull the radio out, you can get to the serial number.  With the serial number and the VIN, you can visit your local Mitsu dealership and request the code.  The manufacturer does this on purpose to deter theft and the reselling of stolen radios.
