Question
my eclipse idles below 1 grand and i know i need to tighten or loosen the screw but what i don't know it which way to turn it and how much.. or if i can mess anything up.. is this something that i need to take in or can i do this myself..

Answer
TaNikki,
With the engine at normal operating temperature, the idle speed should be around 750 rpms, so you should not have to adjust anything.  But if you need make an adjustment, I would recommend you get a service manual to guide you.  In general, the idle adjustment procedure first involves grounding the ECU and idle timing adjustment plug.  Once that's performed, then you turn the base idle setting screw (BISS) that is located on top of your throttle body.
Good luck!
