Mitsubishi Repair: 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Radio, mitsubishi eclipse, mitsubishi dealership

Question
My battery recently went dead and since that time my radio/tape player reads codeE and is essentially dead.  I've read about radio codes....is the problem that simple or is the unit fried.  Any clue?

Answer
Catherine,
Your radio should be fine.  The 'code' for the radio is a security code that the manufacturer sets for the factory radio so it cannot be stolen and then reinstalled in another car.  If you bought the car used, and you were not given the radio code, you will have to contact your local Mitsubishi dealership service department to obtain the proper code.  They may insist you come in to them so they can prove the car is yours.
Good luck!
