Question
i have a 2001 Mitsubishi eclipse gt with the 3.0 v6, i checked my alternator and have a brand new batter no more then 6 months old, the problem i am having was suggested to me as a "dead short", the story goes kinda like this, car died in town, jumped fine and was running lights and all, and nothing wrong with idol, but as i when to a stop and braked my car died completely, no lights no nothing, jumped again and when home no stopping thinking this was my problem, then when to park the car and as i braked again the car died before i could even stop, my question for you would be this, where would i start to look for this problem, and would you have any suggestions on anything to fix this problem i am having, i need this fixed like now and its hard to balance with out the car, thanks for your time please e-mail me with your response please

Answer
Jacob,
This sounds like a charging problem.  You should have your alternator checked.  If your alternator is not charging the battery properly, that can cause your battery to go bad very quickly.  If this is the case, you will need to replace your alternator and your battery again.  So have both items inspected by a mechanic.
Good luck!
