Mitsubishi Repair: changing ignition wires/spark plugs, mitsubishi galant, coil wire

Question
I got my Mitsubishi Galant 2002 2.4 about 6 mos ago from a friend of mine. He told me he changed the spark plugs last may, but the wiring wasn't changed and it is evident. I have been getting check engline light that comes on and off for cylinder 2 misfire being detected and the car jerks during stops(with rmp btwn 4-6) also jerks when in drive and just when beginning to accelerate. I'd like to change the wiring, as well as check for the spark plugs and maybe change them and hope that will solve the problem of misfires.
My question is the 2nd cylinder wiring to the spark plug is just a coil. TO change that, it costs about 100 bucks, but i havent seen the wire set that actually goes into the coil itself. Are those wires to be changed at all ? If so how can i change them ?
Cylinder 1 and 3 have regular wires that i found at autozone, but nothing that looks like the wiring for cylinders 2 (where misfire is being detected) and 4, where only coil is present with a 2 by 2" box on top of it.
What should i do to solve this problem ? And will chanign the wiring help the jerking and the engine light to stop coming on? Can anybody walk me through the process of changing the wiring ?
I appreciate your help,
any input is valuable as i'm new to this and this is my first vehicle.

I went to strauss, they would charge 45 bucks for this wire change. Any advice?

Slava: Try getting a repair manual for your car, you should be able to pick one up at a parts store or order on line. Why not try changing all the stark plugs, and the wires you have and see how that might help. It could be the stark plug is miss firing because it is bad. Maybe sure you put in a good plug, one that will handle this. I mean I think there is three different kind of stark plugs you can buy for your car, don't put in the cheap stark plugs but either put in the middle of the line or the high cost one. Why not ask your friend who you got the car from about that coil wire. If after you put the stark plugs and the wires in, still the miss fire. Then I would take the car to a shop, because you could have some problem with the coil and a shop would have to do that work for you. Oh when you change the stark plugs and wires, do one at a time. Also you could check at AutoZone too as ask them about it too. I am sure they could help you. I will check around and see what I can find out too. Sorry but I mostly work on older cars than your's. But still even if the friend changed the stark plugs they do sometimes go bad and need to be replaced. I always say start with the cheaper things first and then go to the harder but costly things.
