Mitsubishi Repair: dash emission light is on, dash light, diagnostic code

hello I have a kia but think this question would be the same for mitsibushi..?
the emission light came on after I washed the engine
and the car runs rough..any ideas ..I have looked for disconnected wire or hoses but found none..any ideas?

Emissions  components and very sensitive and it doesn't take much for them throw an error on your dash light.  Any number of components may have been disturbed by engine wash.  Most common are your EGR valve, O2 sensor, or an EVAP sensor.  The best thing to do is to have the diagnostic code read and find out which component threw the error.
