Mitsubishi Repair: Diagnostic port, mitsubishi mirage, diagnostic port

Question
Hello, I own a 1990 mitsubishi mirage and I've looked everywhere for the diagnostic port and I can't find it and neither can anybody else.  The check engine ligt is on and the vehicle has a very hard time starting in the cold...the colder it is the harder it is to start.  It turns over but it doesn't fire, so it almost seems like its not getting enough gas or something but we've checked the fuel pump and it seems to be fine.  I don't know what to do and I think that if I could at least find the diagnostic port then it will lead me to finding out how to solve the problem.  Thank you for your time.

Answer
Micah,
The port is typically located next to the left kick panel on the drivers side or directly under the steering column.  It is possible it could be under the glovebox.  The diagnostic port on cars made before 1996 looks much different then later ports.  They are smaller and have a different shape.  The image below shows an example of an older diagnostic port.  It's on the right side of the fuses.

Be on the lookout for that.
Good luck!
